ENGLISH COLIN JELF WINS THE SECOND ROUND OF BOAT GP VIGO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Marc Rolls and him tied in the leading of the World Championship with 29 points, Colin Jelf won the second round of the Boat GP World Championship 2005 in an exciting race. The North American Jay Price took second place, and surprisingly the third went to Norwegian Rich Hakonsen, after Philip Tourre and Owen Jelf left the race.

English Colin Jelf possessed first place from the start, and he remained in this position during the whole length of the race. With the first place already taken, the rest of the pilots continued to fight for the second and third places.

Jay Price grabbed the second position with, firstly, Owen Jelf behind him and then French Philippe Tourre. The situation stayed the same during fifteen minutes, but suddenly, Gennady Touchkovs crashed a buoy, and the race was stopped in the 11th lap. After re-start, the race order changed: Tourre left the race, and Owen recovered to the third position. However, the English also had to leave the competition and the third position was taken by Hakonsen.

Mark Rolls was the luckiest with these facts, as he immediately found himself on fourth position. The winner of the Riga round and leader so far in the Championship kept on driving on this position and finished the GP as fourth.

Even with unpleasant physical circumstances, Jay Price, who had to stay in the local hospital with stomach problems, at the end crossed the finish line on the second position.

In front of 15.000 spectators in Marina Davila, the 42 laps of the Grand Prix went down successfully and will go on tomorrow with the European Cup.
