In session 2006 Latvia Teams are going to race with 3rd Latvian pilot Ugis Gross. Ugis Gross will start with “Kalnciems Racing Team” and hopes in good success in his first formula season.
The season opening race in Croatia will be Ugis first experience in Formula 2000 races. But today he is titled powerboat driver in catamaran class S-550. U.Gross started his powerboat career in 1985 in juniors class S-250, but the most important was period from year 1996 in Class S-550 ,where he fought World Champion title in 2004, World Silver medal in 2005 and 2001, European Vice Champion title in 2002. Ugis Gross is titled Baltic States and Latvia champion in this class, also took part in many races in Poland.
This lets Latvia tem be one of the strongest teams– 3 Latvian drivers in session is in F2000 World Championship a big success for national sports development. While teams are preparing to race, Latvia GP organizers are preparing for a big party and fantastic race, because in the first weekend of June Riga will welcome Formula 2000 World Championship already third time.
