This year Riga will welcome the teams of UIM F2000 World Powerboat Championship for the third time. The GP event in Riga has already become traditional and the preparation works of the Local Organizer have started from the very day when they said good bye to all the teams a year before.
This spring in Riga is sport spring with some great sport events in the city. Beginning of May will see Riga to be filled with ice hockey fans, who will come to watch the locally hosted World Championship Games. Right after that, all attention will be taken by Formula 2000 World Powerboat Championship Round in the heart of Riga city. Teams will either have the chance to stay in the centre of Riga to be part of the amazing night life of the city or by choosing to stay in one of the seaside hotels of Jurmala they will have the possibility to relax in the amazing SPA center.
The organization team for this year’s championship is the same with Agris Kalnciems, Modris Kalnciems and Baiba Lozajeva. Especially for the drivers, a beautiful show will be set up on the water, called “Flying Riga”.
In their home race Latvian teams will start with 4 boats, driven by 3 national drivers – Uvis Slakteris, Genady Tuchkov and Ugis Gross.
