The 43rd edition of the famous 24 Hours of Rouen race was set up in the French city that took the attention of the powerboating world once again. The total number of 9 drivers of the F2000 fleet took their part from the racing experience in three different classes that ended up with Marit Stromoy, Colin Jelf and the Roguez brothers of IXE Team winning the third place in Class 2 and sixth in overall after their 690 laps during 24 hours, in front of the eyes of an estimated 250.000 spectators.
Also racing in Class 2, Christian del Castillo drove thru a remarkable number of 499 laps in his Mercury powered DAC machine that was enough for him and his Olympic Team Rouennais for a sixth place finish and eleventh in overall.
Young fellow French Jean-Baptiste Thomas after his first full season of 2005 in F2000 participated in Class 3 with his father and kept on racing till their 248th lap, while the complete F2000 squad of Owen Jelf, Denis Jarnigon, Pablo Galilea and Tullio Abbate proved their best during 349 laps also in Class 3. Congratulations to all taking part, the best ones won again and will be welcomed in Riga in 4 weeks’ time when the 2006 F2000 World Powerboat Championship hits the waves!
