ONCE AGAIN RIGA WILL START THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VALENCIA (SPAIN) APRIL 26th.
The unfortunate flooding situation going down on River Danube resulted the final decision of not risking the existance of the Croatian GP but to postpone it to a safe date later during the season. VALENCIA (SPAIN) APRIL 26th.
The unfortunate flooding situation going down on River Danube resulted the final decision of not risking the existance of the Croatian GP but to postpone it to a safe date later during the season. Due to a second wave of flood approaching the Vukovar section of the river, Local Organizer of the event together with Promoter Jose Luis del Palacio saw no other chance but to find another date for the GP after consulting with local experts.

Promoter commented: “ However we have already moved the event to a further date, we must change our minds once again and accept that no efforts are enough to set up the event in Vukovar on 27/28th May. It will take weeks till the second wave subsides and only then can the recovery and medical procedures begin, that would put the Croatian GP in a dangerous situation. We decided to open another date later in the 2006 calendar for a successful event.”

As the result of the postponement of the event, Riga will host the kick-off round of the 2006 F2000 World Powerboat Championship as it happened in 2005. For the third time in a row, the F2000 family will meet up in the Baltic city and open the World Championship, the home of Uvis Slakteris, Gennady Touchkov, Sergey Nikitin and newcomer Ugis Gross is proud to win the season starting venue and awaits the rest of the field for another spectacular show on River Daugava.
