ARIF TURNS UP THE HEAT
Castellón, (Spain) 29th July 2006

The sun scorched down, and Arif Al Zafeen scorched round the challenging circuit at Castellón to set best time in the first timed trials. But only nine hundreds of a second faster than Colin Jelf who was in turn one second slower than his free practice time.

Tommy Walsten maintained his form to finish in the top three; and Uvis Slateris and Phillipe Tourre were hard on his heels.

In fact the first five boats in this first trial were less than a second apart, so we can expect a close fight in the second session, to see who comes out on top and gets the hole shot for the race.

Promoter Jose Luis del Palacio confirmed to the local press that the Castellón circuit is first class, the welcome received by the Royal Nautic Club and the local organisation is superb and he expects the racing to be a reflection of this excellent event.

We know our internet spectators world-wide are following this race, and we will update you with the final practice results immediately it is finished.
