WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING
Castellón, (Spain) 29th July 2006

This morning´s light breeze freshened-up and presented the drivers in the second timed trial with new challenges. It added six seconds a lap onto the times, and veteran driver Denis Jarignon came out on top with a best lap of 1:02.63 secs, just three tenths of a second in front of Steven Cook. Owen Jelf slipped into third place and just beat his brother Colin by half a second with a time of 1:02.65.

Andre Scheurle kept the German flag flying with and impressive fourth place and a very confident drive.

Sanches Consuegra was also flying high with his newly strengthened and modified boat, and stepped onto the jetty with his biggest smile.

Unfortunately these heroics were to no avail and the starting grid will be set-out with the results from the first timed trial.

This means that the top five will be led by Arif Al Zafreen in pole position. Hot on his heels will be Colin Jelf, Tommy Walsten, Uvis Slateris, and Philippe Tourre. Less than a second covers them, and it is going to be a close scramble to the first buoy tomorrow.

Because this circuit is tight; the Monaco of Formula 2000 we shall be eliminating some of the over 20 boats with a series of short races tomorrow morning, ready for the Grand Prix just after high noon .
