 On lap 25 Colin saw his chance and dived into the lead at the habour bouy. A great race was then completed with Arif trying his best to get the first place back, but it was not to be, and Arif got a creditable second.
Working their way thru the qualifying heats, the 12 participants of the Grand Prix all finished the race without major injuries, Tommy Wahlsten of Sweden at his second start in F2000 World Championship took 3rd position.Uvis Slakteris finished as the best of the Latvian teams as 4th classified, followed by Johan Coenradi collecting 7 valuable points after his bad luck during the Latvian GP where he crashed Philippe Tourre’s Molgaard and had to quit the race.
Marit Stromoy, (50, Molgaard) coming from the Repacharge Heat 2nd position finished the GP as 6th, while newcomer Alex Carella of Italy at his very first World Championship race got chequered flag on 7th place in his old Turati hull that has not been raced for a while.
