THE ARIF AND COLIN SHOW ENDED UP WITH BRITISH SUCCESS IN CASTELLON
Castellón, (Spain) 30th July 2006

The Spanish GP saw Colin Jelf (4, Molgaard) winning at the end of the 30 lap race. Colin was in a constant fight at the front of the field with Arif Al Zafien of the Emirates. Al Zafien, (7, Molgaard) resident of Dubai maintained his leading position from Pole Position. with Coling snapping at his heels with no more than a second between them most of the while.

On lap 25 Colin saw his chance and dived into the lead at the habour bouy. A great race was then completed with Arif trying his best to get the first place back, but it was not to be, and Arif got a creditable second.

Working their way thru the qualifying heats, the 12 participants of the Grand Prix all finished the race without major injuries, Tommy Wahlsten of Sweden at his second start in F2000 World Championship took 3rd position.Uvis Slakteris finished as the best of the Latvian teams as 4th classified, followed by Johan Coenradi collecting 7 valuable points after his bad luck during the Latvian GP where he crashed Philippe Tourre’s Molgaard and had to quit the race.

Marit Stromoy, (50, Molgaard) coming from the Repacharge Heat 2nd position finished the GP as 6th, while newcomer Alex Carella of Italy at his very first World Championship race got chequered flag on 7th place in his old Turati hull that has not been raced for a while.

A fast, spectacular, and safe race, with no incidents; all of our drivers displayed superb skills in the hot conditions, and the spectators are all asking ´when do they come back´.

Closing the racing activities in Spain, there is nothing left to do on spot, but to load the containers for the Asian races as F2000 World Championship tour is about to leave Europe and travel to China to partake in the inaugural Chinese GP on the 3/4th October in the Chongquin provence. So Farewell hot and sunny Castellon, and hello Wanzhou, where the food is hot and spicy.
