| WANZHOU HERE WE COME | Valencia (Spain) 1st September 2006
The Promoter, the Chinese Federation, and the Wanzhou local organisation team are working hard to make this a show case race for Formula 2000. A course has been laid-out on the Yangtze river that should prove to be very challenging for the drivers, and will guarantee a spectacular race to the tens of thousands of spectators at the venue, and the one hundred million live television viewers. | Because of the steep river bank and its height above the water level, all of the pit facilities and race control will be floating on barges and a command boat. This unique solution has posed new challenges, and the solutions will be a first time for powerboat racing.
In reply to a question from the press, Jose Luis del Palacio stated � the sheer effort and numbers of people in the Chinese organisational team occupied with the tasks of making this the best Formula 2000 race are most impressive, and I will ensure that my team support them with a race that once again raises the standard that future events have to achieve�
