UAE AND ARIF TAKE CHINA BOAT GP MATCH RACE HONOUR

Tuesday Match Race at the F2000 World Championship was dominated by Dubai diver Arif Al Zafeen (7, Molgaard). In front of an estimated crowd of 500.000 people, the UAE driver was in impressive form holding off a strong challange from Latvian driver Uvis Slakteris (51, Molgaard) to win by just 1.33 seconds.

Favourite Colin Jelf (4, Molgaard) was beaten in the quarter finals by Slakteris, after he failed to recover from a slow run.
Third place run off was won by Frenchman Philippe Tourre in the most exciting race of the day beating Dutch driver Johan Coenradi by less then a second.

Al Zafeen f UAE made his parade lap in utmost happines after winning the very first Match Race of his career, poudly carrying his national flag in front of the vast crowd.

The Championship concludes tomorrow with the Speed Record Contest and the Grand Prix of China, where hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected to watch.
The Championship round is part of the 57th Anniversary celebrations to mark the foundation of the People’s Reublic of China.
