THE FUN RETURNS IN PORTUGAL
In what turned out to be a highly dramatic end of the 2nd time trial, where France driver JB Thomas, the fastest driver from this morning had an hard accident with Spanish driver Tiste Orozco - the session opened up for Jonas Andersson.

Jonas Andersson a 2 time Worldchampion in the Boat GP Worldchampionship,
now racing professionally in Formula 1 returned in a guest entry - and
clinched Pole Position with a perfect lap in the calm condition with only
minutes to go. 35,95sec - to the defending World Cup champion Colin Jelfs
36,37 sec lap and French ace JB Thomas 36,72.

The fun has returned, and will Jonas Andersson do like he did in Formula 1
in Qatar. Win from pole position in the season opener? Only time can tell,
as tomorrows race start 18.00 local time.

Uvis Slakteris of Riga Powerboat team finished 4th and Italian hero Alex
Carella 5th. Finishing off the top 6 is 2007 European champion Ugis Gross
of the KRT racing team of Latvia.

Rick Ivar Haakonsen who blowed an engine in morning warmup is back on the
water with a 7th - Owen jelf is 8th and the Kuwait entry of Yosef Al
Rabayan is 9th. Rounding off the top 10 is Swedish veteran Sven jansson.

Gianni Manici posted 40,29 in 11th and new on the tour, German Nick
Bisterfield was 12th. F. Sanchez and Tiste Orozco rounded off the top 14
drivers in todays World Cup race.
